Can anyone explain why the same hotel room in Paris is almost a 100 Euros more on bookings than it is on venere?

Maybe it's the allotment of rooms each site is allowed to reserve - perhaps venere has more availability.
That's an unusual one. I've consistently found Bookings to be cheaper than venere.
You'll probably never find out "the" answer. If both of these services are reliable as I am sure they are I would snap up the Venere booking (assuming this IS for the exact same type of room) and consider myself a very savvy traveler.
You also may want to make sure there was no typo. My friend and I booked a room in Antwerp that seemed like a steal. It said 40EU the first night and an even lower price the 2nd. So of course we booked it. Only to later receive an email of apology that their website had a typo. It's ok though. I think we found a better hotel. I'll know in a couple weeks
