between Tuscany and Milan

My husband and I are traveling between Tuscany and Milan in July and want to hit a food festival or something fun on our way back north. Need suggestions of places to stay, eat, along the way. We like off the beaten path but need to get from Radda in Chianti leaving the 16th to something close to Milan (linate) for an early flight on the 19th. All suggestions welcomed. We do have a car.

Don't know if Spoleto is on your path but here's some info about it's music festival. Also, it is a great town to visit. Awesome duomo and roman acquaduct.
