Best way to Greek Islands from Sofia Bulgaria
I will be in Sofia Bugaria in October and have 5 extra days after a conference. I am wondering the best way to get to the Greek Islands, either the Ionian Islands, Cyclades, or Saronic Gulf Islands. I am having a hard time finding reasonable air, and am wondering if the train takes forever or bus is an alternative. Thanks

Lisa, <BR>I am Greek,but I work in Sofia and commute regularly.I take the airplane(Olympic)to Athens.I suggest taking the airplane and transfer in AthensIn October it wont cosy more than $250 for a round trip from SOF.That way you can have more choices to pick islands of your choice.Otherwise a bus looks like the second best choice.There are many companies that travel to Thessaloniki.The trip takes about 5-6 hours inluding the border stop.From Thesaloniki are daily sailings to the Cyclades mainly(mykonos,Santorini)or flights to Crete,Mytilene,Chios,Lemnos,Corfu,Santorini(around $150 round trip) <BR>If you have any more questions ask me more.
