Best place to stay in Austrian Alps for a month

Jump to last reply

Hi, we are planning a month long stay this July in Austrian Alps with a 6 year old.

Any suggestions for nice, scenic villages where we could rent a house for month and then take day trips around. I would prefer it to not be a very busy place, but at the same time not completely boring (to have a few attractions, things for a child to do if we choose not to go anywhere on a certain day).
We were considering mostly the Tyrol region, but also thought about the Salzburg/lakes area as a second option?

thank you
