Best place to see swiss alps jan 26

Jump to last reply

Hi there fodorites, My boyfriend and I are going to be driving from lyon france to basel on jan 27. We would like to take a scenic route through switzerland and get a good view of the alps if possible. What cities/villages/routes will give us the best view? We won't have much time to stop, maybe 3 hrs at most. Does that gives us enough time to take a train to the top or halfway up? A 1/4 way up.? what is the best time of day to visit in January? Early morning or afternoon? Will here be fog? We would like to experience some dramatic and breathtaking views.

Thank you
