best place in europe to be over christmas/new years

I am flying into London and out of Amsterdam. However, after perusing some of the budget airlines mentioned on this board I am realizing that I can pretty much go anywhere in Europe. Right now my schedule is London, Paris, Brussels, Brugge, Antwerp, Amsterdam.

Is there anyplace you would think would be better over Christmas/New Years (Dec 18-Jan 3) taking into account weather as well as everything else.

You're in northern Europe, weather will be wet, windy, cold etcetera!

Any of those will suffice - I'd be in one of the cheaper destination Christmas time - London hotels are notoriously pricey over Christmas.

m kingdom, I am going to take your advice on the hotel for london - the mayfair holiday inn for 97gbp (for four people). From what I can gather this is a pretty good price.

Someone from this board wrote about a wonderful New Year's Eve in Bruges, complete with six course meal and festiveness that made me jump for joy. That would be my recommendation, especially since you will be nearby.

Paris, Strasbourg or Rome. We have been to all three at Christmas and have had a blast.

I can't commen on the quality of the rooms, the lobby looks quite comfortable, so I'd imagine the rooms will be too. However, the price you're paying is a steal for such a prime position that you can't really lose.
