Best hotel in sorrento for beautiful views and convenient to the city
Can you please make recommendations for a special hotel, with views of the bay to finish out our first trip to Italy. Up to 300.00 us per night thanks!

Prices change depending on when you're going. When will you be there? Perhaps one of the best hotels is the Excelsior Vittoria but you'll need to check rates for your dates.
I have to say that the top hotels will probably charge a lot more pn than your budget.

The GRAND HOTEL EXCELSIOR VITTORIA is an incredible hotel - a *Virtuoso and Leading Hotels of the World* site... but it also starts about €510 a night in-season. $300 US is about €230 in today's money so you'll probably have to look at other accommodations.
In Sorrento, the Parco Dei Principi sits on the bay. The Grand Hotel Angiolieri is perhaps higher rated, and has a great pool. If you want a more "special" hotel, you might look in Positano or Ravello, rather than Sorrento. To me, the further you get from Naples, the deeper your experience... Of course, the prices are a little higher in those cities, but it's hard to find a hotel in either that does not have a tremendous view.
But I agree with Rubicund; I think you'll have to up your budget if you are there in-season.

I think for any of the grande dame hotels in Sorrento, you'll have to pay more in season than $300/night. You can check Hotel Tramontano or Belle Syrene ( sp?), but I am sure they are probably over your stated budget most of the year.
In Positano, there are some hotels that may- just- match your budget. Check Albergo Miramare, Hotel California, Best Western. But you should be aware that Positano is a vertical city with tons of stairs to climb back and forth to town. So if you are not in decent physical shape, it can be a problem.
You could also check Amalfi and Praiano, both of which may have more moderate rates. Good luck!

You might want to take a look at hotels in Sant' Agnello and Vico Equense..they might be a bit less pricey than in Sorrento proper, and will have great views. Agree that $300 will not buy anything near the top tier of hotels except possibly in low season.
In Vico Equense, possibillities would include the GH Angiolieri, mentioned above, and these two hotels; both have grand views of the Bay and Vesuvius. (I have not stayed at either hotel, and have seen the exteriors only)

If you don't have to be in town, the Aminta has good views (free shuttle to town).

Several years ago we stayed at the Bristol and were very happy with it. Our rooms hade balconies overlooking the bay and with a view of Vesuvius.
We were there in the off season, so I don't know about rates now.
Have a great trip!

Agree that the Excelsior Vittoria is the place to go - ut have not seen prices that low in recent years. You are not going to get luxury places for that amount. And many of those with views have them because they are up on the hillside - a long climb from town.
I think you are going to have to give on either budget, quality, view or location.
