Best city in Italy
I am going to Italy next year in August/September and I need to know where in Italy to stay. I own a timeshare so hopefully I will be able to get a nice resort. I am staying for 2 weeks straight. What city(cities) do you recommend in Italy in August/September? Also, what types of things would you bring to this city in Italy for 2 weeks? What is the weather like during that time?
Thanks. The more info. the better
Maurice

Hi Maurice,

I've tried to get a timeshare exchange twice in the last two years, but no luck..I'm with Interval Iternational, and I'm very disappointed with them...
I've been to Venice, Florence, Pisa Siena, Rome, Pompei..I would recommend all of them...the weather is very hot in August, take the half of the clothes what you have planned to take and still won't weare all of them...
You need power converter for elecrical stuff from 110V to 220V...also their plugs are differ from any other Europen standard, so you need to buy that also, but you can get those in any convenient store in Italy. The 110/220 converter, you should by it in the State...

Wherever you choose to go, I would avoid all of Italy in August. Just not the best time to go if you have an option. That's when all the Italians take their vacations and things can be VERY crowded and, depending on the city, hot. September is much more pleasant. Where would I go if I'd never been to Italy? Florence and Tuscany for sure.

I have been to Rome, Venice and Florence and I vote for ROME. It is the most cosmopolitan city in Italy. The sights are amazing, food delicious and the people are friendly. Florence and venice are nice, but a bit too touristy for me.

Check out my Rome section in my personal travel websight-

http://home.earthlink.net/~richardab

It has some listing for restaurants, hotels and sights plus more!
