Eric: Not sure it was the best (that's personal) but the most expensive I had while recently staying in Paris:
"Cafe Marly", Cours Napoleon/Louvre, 6 Euro!!
Been there, done that. Great for a rest after a stroll at the Louvre and for people watching.
Best cappuccino I've had in Paris has been as the Scossa cafe on the Place Victor Hugo in the 16th.
