I will be staying 3 nights in Valencia on next November. I would like to know which is the best area to stay.
Thanks for your help!

I´m looking for a nice area with shops and restaurants not far from the main attractions.

We stayed in Barrio del Carmen a few years ago, which we liked very much.
We will stay in the Centro Storico during Las Fallas in March 2017. Centro Storico is just 800 m south of Barrio del Carmen and has stunning architecture, large squares, many restaurants, etc.

We stayed at Primus Valencia, near the Arts and Science center and loved it. Bus 19, located near the hotel, takes you to the beach or old town. Lots of shopping nearby and great bike paths. The park (5 minutes walking distance) is the most beautiful I've seen anywhere.

Near the Science Center is a new area removed from downtown but there are buses that take you there in 20-30 minutes.. or taxi in about 10.

I would stay near the center, which gives you walking distance to all the historic parts of the city.

Taxis are cheap, so depending on the hotel you prefer, either area will be nice.

Careful with Russafa and Carmen area as there are lots of eateries that stay open late and can be noisy crowds having fun VERY late walking the streets below your hotel.

I live here so would be happy to help you decide between certain hotels. I also think there are previous posts about Valencia with a LOT of good ideas. Do a search

We stayed at an airbnb for around 36 dollars a night for the 2 of us. Great accommodations and host. 4-5 block walk to the beach. 3 block walk to the bus stop that takes you to the city center. PM me if you need airbnb details.

This past March we stayed at an AirBnb on the Carrer de Don Juan de Austria - just off the Colon metro station. It's a cool and fashionable street with boutiques, restaurants, banks and walking distance to just about anywhere. Couldn't have asked for a better location especially since we were there for the Fallas.
