Best area for apartment - attending conference Copenhagen

Hello all,
my husband and I will be attending a conference in April in Copenhagen and neither of us have been to any part of Scandinavia before.
We generally prefer apartments over hotel and usually are organised a lot further in advance than this so would appreciate some help in deciding which area to look please.
The conference will be at :
Bella Center Copenhagen
Center Boulovard 5
DK-2300 Copenhagen S
We would like to be in an area convenient o access the Bella Center by public transport but also experience what 'old' Copenhagen has to offer if possible.
Would appreciate any suggestions or insight,
thank you.

You can find out all the info you need by googling the Bella Centre. I doubt you will want to stay in the area of the conference, the area is all new office buildings and hotels. Take the metro from the Bella Centre to Kongens Nytorv or the stop before or after and you will be in central Copenhagen. How long are you staying? Central Copenhagen is small enough to walk around or take a bike but the suburbs are often missed, there is alot to see depending on your interests.

Look at the transit map: http://www.moviatrafik.dk/dinrejse/k...enhavnCity.pdf

As Odin mentioned, a metro line M1 station is right at the Bella Center. You have a straight shot from Copenhagen using the M1. If you look at downtown Copenhagen using Google map and turn on "transit", you will find that there are many possibilities to have good access to one of many M1 metro stations.

Like other cities, there are several multiple day transport card options to simplify commuting to the Bella Center.

Thanks for the quick replies - 'sneaking' onto Fodors from work at the moment but will check out your suggestions more fully tonight
We will be in Copenhagen for 4 nights and I am not attending the actual conference so will be playing tourist!
I am looking at an apartment near Nyhavan Canal? If I'm reading correctly, about 18 mins by public transport I think?

It's Nyhavn and yes, it is a great area, 18 mins sounds about right.

Thanks Odin, sorry, I usually try to be a stickler for spelling - in haste I'm afraid.
I think I have found a great apartment in Christianshavn, lots of research now for 4 days in Copenhagen
