Berlin's Barbie House Opens to Feminists' Protests

Brightening up a grey dour area of former East Berlin the new Barbie House has sparked protests from feminists over its stereotypic portrayal of women.

Barbie the doll became world-famous after Mattel used a character from a German comic to create the original Barbie Doll (said on NPR).

Barbie House could become one of Berlin's main attractions and is located just off Alexanderplatz - the commercial center of former East Berlin.
