mmm - far more WW2 sites in Berlin than in Venice, i would have thought.
It is going to be cold either place. Not much fighting in Berlin (well what there was has been rebuilt), Berlin has some fine museums. Even the Riechstag is new. Probably more cold war bits and pieces in Berlin.
Berlin's Third Reich/ WW2 sites include the Museum of Terrors, Plotensee Prison where Hitler had enemies garroted and hung out to die on metal hooks still visible - Sachenhausen Concetration Camp/Memorial in suburban Oranienberg (sp?); the Riechstag; a main Jewish synagogue torched on Kristallnach and the site of Hitler's Tomb/cave to name a few.
That said the weather in Venice will be much nicer usually in Feb than in an oft bitter cold Berlin - expect temps in 5-0s in Venice vs 20s-30 highs in Berlin I would think.
For a honeymoon Venice hands down - one of the most romantic cities in the world and in off-season not nearly so sinking under the weight of tourists as in summer.
Oh and the Kaiser Wilhelm church - bearing war scars that have been left as a testament to the horrors of war.
I took my husband to Venice in Dec. and he was not impressed. It is a place to be enjoyed in better weather. I would opt for Berlin. There is so much to see and do - in any weather. Have a great trip.
i think venice will be rainining that time and it floods. Berlin will be very cold but i guess museums and night life can be enjoyed?....how bt going to fussen slo for castles enroute interlaken from berlin
I was in Venice last winter and I wouldn't like to visit it again. Very cold and stormy weather, cold wind. Rather choose Berlin

museums and galleries can be enjoyed any time of year - we were in Berlin in a heat wave a few years ago and the museums were the most comfortable places to be.
mayank - the OP has said they've got 3 days and want WW2 interest - why mention Fuessen? have I missed something?
We have been to Berlin and Venice in Feb. It will be cold and possibly raining in both places obviously. When we were in Venice it was Carnival. It was so much fun to see people dressed in costumes roaming the streets. I would check the dates of that. If it is Carnival, I would chose Venice. Both are great cities to see.
