I am traveling from Berlin to Amsterdam from Dec 2-4. Trying to find a nice hotel (not too crazy expensive), in a good area and easy to get to the museums and other sites.
I'm not sure if i should take the train from berlin due to time constraints. I want to make the most of my time there. Would it be easier to take a plan there and a train back (would like to experience the train.)
I'm also trying to look for any packages available.
Thanks
Berlin to Amsterdam

There is a low-cost airline that goes from Tegel airport to Amsterdam: http://www.flylc.com/directall-en.asp

Train will take about 6 hours door to door. Flight about four hours. I would not make a decision based on that difference - go by prices, convenience etc.
The train takes 6:20 from Berlin to Amsterdam. Add travel time to/from hotel, so 7hrs will be a more realistic "door to door" travel time.
The train ride is mostly through boring flat landscape and the service is with a regular InterCity train. Not one of the sleek HST services.
But when you think about flying, please do check transavia's (which is the budget airline in question) allowances for checked and carry-on luggage. Both may be substantially lower than what you are used to on transatlantic fligths.
