Berlin-Prague-Vienna-Budapest-Italy

Jump to last reply

Me and my friend are taking a month long trip to eastern europe. This is what we have decided so far
Day1 - arrive in Berlin morning
Day 2, 3 - Berlin
Day 4 - mid morning train to Prague
Day 5, 6, 7 - Prague
Day 8 - mid morning train to Vienna
Day 9,10 - Vienna
Day 11 - leave for Salsburg for one night
Day 12 - salsburg to Budapest
Day 13, 14, 15 - Budapest
Day 15 - fly to Rome for 10 days in Rome

I have a few questions:
a) Do you thin these are enough days in these places? We like fast paced trips and things to do.
b) Should we increase or decrease our time in any city? We are not much into museums and stuff barring a few. We prefer more tourist sight seeing stuff etc.
c) We will be mostly taking trains to travel from one city to other. I did research on Eurail pass and it doesn't make sense for us. My question is when would be a good time to buy the train tickets? Should we buy them once we are in the city or buy them in advance. Our day and time should pretty much be locked in. Is there a huge difference in prices? Can you please recommend what websites to look for to buy these tickets.
d) We do not plan to rent a car at all during this phase. Do you think we should? We would prefer public transportation and walk.biking to experience a city.
