Trip Report Berck-sur-Mer kite festival on the English Channel

I already made a report about this last year, and of course it is too late for this year, but I would really like to bring your attention to this event. It takes place every year in April, spanning two weekends (i.e. it lasts 9 days -- 10 days this year due to Easter Monday) in the homely little seaside town of Berck (famous for its hospitals and depicted in the film 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly').

Anybody looking for an April day trip from Paris next year should really seriously consider checking it out. It won't just be the 26th annual festival but it will also be hosting the World Kite Championship at the same time.

It's a good excuse to eat some seafood (or some shamelessly greasy fried favorites) and also observe what the ordinary French are doing when they aren't trying to look chic
