Belgium Travel Concept: visit late spring or early summer, and stay for six nights. Focus on architecture, food, beer, urban exploration and photography.

Option A:.Save time and bag drags by basing out of Ghent. Do day trips by rail to Bruges, Brussels and maybe Antwerp?

Option B: three nights each in Ghent and Brussels. Do day trips from Brussels to Antwerp and Leuven.

Appreciate your feedback on the overall concept, top things to see and do, hotels and restaurants.

Not sure I understand if you want to test a new concept for others or for you.

Anyway in case I understand you want to come 6 days in Belgium is rev up split. Especially if you are on photos you'll get different times to get pics in 2 cities.

Top things : the list is easily done and in 6 days if I'd more a matter of choosing.

Hotels : I live close by so can't help and I eat mostly at home when in Belgium.

Do try chez Vincent close to la grand place - but my info dates back to several years at least.

Antwerp has an interesting mix of old and New architecture.

Thanks for the feedback. That concept is for myself, but maybe others have already done something similar? I am leaning towards option B.

Sorry but I am not a fan of Brussels. INHO the Grand Place is enough for me.

I love Brugge, like Ghent and also loved visiting some of the town in the eastern part - Leige, Spa and even visiting Aachen (am a total fan of Charlemagne).

The Musee des Beaux Arts in Brussels is a must see for those who love art.

It's all fairly close together, so either option would work. Or spend a night or 2 in Antwerp, instead of Brussel. There are some interesting new architecture and urban renewal projects. Don't miss the Art Nouveau district Zurenborg. Visit brewery De Koninck.

In summer there are some pop-up beach bar type places, like Strantwerpen.

Don't know what you want to spend on a hotel, and as Whathello, I don't stay in hotels, but The Glorious, 't Sandt, Hotel Banks are worth a look.

Tulips: Antwerp has more to offer then I first thought. The Zurenborg district looks very interesting.

Zurenborg is very interesting in terms of architecture (art nouveau, neoclassical, gothic, baroque, eclectic).
Other areas of interest are Het Eilandje (northern suburb with the MAS Museum and the new Red Star Line Museum) and Het Zuid (southern suburb, trendy and artistic with art galleries, etc.).
And of course do visit the Central Station, also called the Railway Cathedral.
No suggestions for hotels, either 'cause I live nearby.
