Leaving for Spain soon and would like to know your experiences with the ATMs.

I live in Spain and I never had a problem with ATM (except when a machine runs out of cash but then there's another one near), there are lots of them.

Just there also in June and had no problems. I did have one problem on the trip; in Italy, though. The very first machine I tried in Venice would not take my card, but 15 minutes later at another machine I had success and no more problems.
Have fun in Spain!

There must be a long thread about ATMs in Spain buried here somewhere. What I remember from reading it, not every card works in Spain, call your bank.

You would call it anyway, to let them know you'll be out of the country so the card won't be declined, right? So call now.

I also remember the thread that Faina posted. I think I recall that some banks had basically shut off ATM access in Spain for various reasons. Only certain banks though. You should definitely call ASAP

Hi kenderina, looks like you are back from England. How was your trip? Hope you can file a trip report. Take care.
