My husband and I were in Malta in May as a cruise port. To be honest with you we saw some of the Island but never went to the beach all I know is the streets were very dirty and all torn up. The natives do speak english but a little Maltese will impress them. They were very friendly to us but we must have caught it at a bad time. From 1-4 every day they stores close and even the street vendors were closed. I'm sure you'll get more advice but have a good time.
Malta is located south of Sicily, so the weather is generally good. However the temperatures in February should be chilly... May I say that the best season would be be from April till October. Just e-mail me, should you like more details on the island.

Went on a 10 day family vacation Labor Day week.
Lots of fun, great weather, great food, very inexpensive and plenty to do: Historical sights, beautiful scenery, beach, boating, nightlife. Would go back in a heartbeat. E-mail me if you need more info. PS February would be chilly and I believe wet.

Good Website is www.malta.com Info on the 3 islands, what to see, where to stay, eat, festivals, holidays, etc. Even if going on a group tour, you need info on what to do on free days. Enjoy!
