Beaches near Pisa/Lucca - "Bagni"

My husband and two teenage daughters will be traveling in Tuscany in July. We are looking for a beach to go to for part of the day when we are visiting Pisa and Lucca. I see where Versilia has beaches that are the "bagni" type where you pay to rent the spot with umbrella. Does anyone have any experience with any particular town/location? I'm not sure where to start to find a beach where we can do this. We will have a car for travel. Maybe we just drive up the beach and there will be signs advertising?
