B&B vouchers
Have been closely monitering this site for reccomended b&bs.Problem is we are using the dreaded vouchers and every reccommended b&b I look into does not except them. Any ideas would help, we will be in cahir/cashel, kenmare/killarney,dingle, and bunratty. Thanks in advance!

Hi wogmog:
Well, there is one reccommended B&B that does accept vouchers. The Shores near Dingle still does.
Anyway, here is what may be a helpful website for you. It's the Town & Country site that shows just the B&Bs that accept vouchers. http://www.tandctrade.com/
See if you get any ideas from this.

wogmog, take a look at Cill Bhreac in Dingle, we are booked there and they accept vouchers; also, the Lighthouse, Milestone House (we stayed there in 95, it was very nice back then); in Kenmare both Seanua and Mylestone House take them. (These are all places where we are either booked for our upcoming trip or were second runners up!)
When is your trip? You can order the Town and Country book from the Irish Tourist Board for free, or pick it up at a Tourist Info in Ireland (but you'll have to pay for it!).

Wogmog, We stayed in the "Ladyswell" in Cashel. It is just around the corner from the rock. Nice hosts, good breakfast, comfortable and clean room, great location. Also, a big plus in my book--very responsive to email.
I would recommend against the "Westfield House" in Killorglin, near Killarney, and probably the "Hilltop" on the other side of town as well which has the same owner.

Is there any possibility you can return those vouchers for cash credit? I have never seen any logical reason for limiting your accomodations by buying vouchers only accepted at certain places, probably those places that need the extra boost to business because they wouldn't fill up otherwise.

Don't know if it's too late, but allisonm mentioned Cill Bhreac in Dingle. My wife and I stayed there for a night in May and found it to be a very nice place. Angela was very nice, and breakfast was good (she has pancakes on the menu if you need a break from the traditional menus).
It's a short drive into town (or a bit of a walk) and it's located right on the road out to Slea Head, so location is pretty good, too.

Just got back from Ireland last week and one of the nicest B&B's we stayed in was in Cashel. The Rock Side at the foot of the castle. You can see the castle lit up from the bedroom windows at night. They also had a breakfast menu, and good food. Rooms were very nice and new.

My niece and I just returned from a 5 day trip to SW Ireland and used vouchers from Town and Country. One of the b&b hosts told us that vouchers are disliked by b&b owners and they will sometimes tell you they have no vacancy rather than accept them. The reason is that they lose money with them, by the time the issuing company takes its cut.
Having said that, we had good experiences with the T&C vouchers and highly recommend their book as Bill mentioned.
We stayed at Tudor Lodge in Bunratty which is on your list and liked it very much. It's in town and a 'medium' walk to the the castle.
