Bayern Ticket with child

Jump to last reply

There are 4 of us traveling. 3 adults and my son who is 13. He rides free on the Bayern ticket. I emailed the help desk about how to specify him and not have to pay for him (only pay for me, my husband and my daughter) and they responded with this:

During the booking you must only determine one of the travellers as the ticket-holder, with his/her personal details and identification card. Fellow travellers are not separately identified during the booking and travel.

Children’s under the age of 6 years travelling for free and don't have to be mentioned on the ticket.

Children’s between 6 and 14 years travelling also for free if they are entered during the booking of the ticket of the parents or grandparents.

Please note that it is not possible to add them retroactively.

Okay, I understand this but when I go to purchase the ticket, it only wants one person's name. When I select the number of people, it doesn't specify child and so it is charging me for 4 adults.

The website says it can be purchased either through this link
http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/prices/germany-regional/bavariaticket.shtml

or by selecting local transport on the main page. The bayern ticket does not show up on that page so I used the link above.

PLEASE help me. I am so utterly confused and cannot figure this out. It takes the help desk a few weeks to get back to me.

I want to select 3 adults and one child for a one way ticket.
