My daughter and I are travelling from Salzburg to Munich by train on a Friday. Can you buy the Bayern pass at the Salzburg train station?
We then plan to take the train to Fussen on Saturday to visit Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles and want to book tickets ahead of time. Is the Bayern pass good anytime on Saturday? What is the time span they cover? We are trying to make sure to allow enough time to get to the castles and decide what time to make castle reservations. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

At the Salzburg station there is a DB (German Rail) ticket window. That is where you should buy the Bayern Pass. The faster trains are not covered by the Bayern Pass; ask when you buy the ticket which is the next train you may take.
You are correct in that on Saturdays the Bayern ticket is good all day, not just after 9 a.m. like on weekdays. You can get trains to Fuessen every hour as early as 5:51 a.m.
