Bastille Day in Paris

Curious if anyone has spent Bastille Day in Paris? my 3 week trip just happened to end in Paris on Bastille Day, so I extended one more day to take that into account. It also falls on a Sunday. I'm curious to know what will actually be open for business (museums, gardens, etc...). My current expectation is that I will simply wander the streets that day, expecting attractions to be closed for the national holiday. I checked the Louvre website, and there's no indication that it will be closed that day, but I haven't looked into some of the smaller museums/gardens. I expect the large crowds in the streets, if nothing else, it should be good for people watching.
