Base city in Italy

Where do I base myself if I want to include Pisa. What I have gathered is that Pisa is no place to spend 3 days. I would like to have a base and go to Venice or Florence or Milan along with Pisa. Is 3 days enough if I try and not do to much.Leaving in 20 days andy help would be cool.

Hi<BR> May I suggest that you visit Venice for 3 days?

From a fellow Hoosier, base yourself in Lucca or Florence and day trip from there. Venice and Milan are too far.

Do I understand correctly that you'll be in Italy for 3 days total, or did I misinterpret what you wrote? If you are going to be there only 3 days, then you won't need to take any daytrips--just go to Venice, Florence, or Rome and you'll have plenty to do in any one of those cities. You won't be able to see everything in any one of those 3 cities in just 3 days, so save Pisa for another trip.
