Barcelona: LAST MINUTE advice?

My wife and I will be in Barcelona in one week for 4 days. Is there ANYTHING that we should/need to do prior to going? Any reservations or advance ticket purchases, etc that are a MUST? Any other last minute advice?

The only advice I can offer is for you to download Marible's Barcelona file (http://mariblesguides.com).

Check out this web site so you don't have a problem with pick pockets in the city. I watched a woman get mugged in a very busy area of Barcelona outside el Corte Ingeles. Its not to scare you but just be aware. Barcelona in my opinion is just one of the worst for pick pockets.

Also, if you are interested in seeing the interior of Palau Guell, go their first thing in the morning to make a reservation, or better yet see if your hotel can make one for you now. There are only a limited number of tickets each day. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only home designed by Gaudi whose interior you can visit, so it is popular. There is a small house in which Gaudi lived for a few years in Parc Guell which is worth a visit if you go to the Parc (which I would recommend), although the house is on a much small scale than the Palau Guell.

If you are really a fan of Gaudi and want to make sure to see all his buildings and churches, then arrange a tour with the Gaudi Club. They have a 4-hour tour that hits them all for Euros 39. Go to gaudiclub.com/ingles.

39 Euro (about $45 USD) per person is very high for a 4-hour tour. Bus Turistic passes many of the Gaudi-designed buildings. I think for a first visit I would be satisfied with Parc Guell (incl. Palau Guell, if possible) and the Sagrada Familia.

I cannot emphasize enough the absolute NECESSITY of being vigilant about pickpockets on the Barcelona Metro..the ONLY time I've ever been hit (and the only time I wasn't using my money belt).

I LOVE Barcelona but beware of thieves.

After my recent experiences there I must differ - I'd advise seeing the other attractions over anything associated with Gaudi whose work is so terribly overrated, and a total nightmare. As an architect his designs quite simply don't work, I was very disappointed with the interiors too!
