Barcelona in mid-april or early May

Generally speaking, what is the weather like in barcelona in mid-April? My first research seemed to indicate lovely spring weather, but further delving seems to indicate it is a rainy time. Are we better off visiting early May?

I was in Barcelona in mid-April one year and it was uncomfortably warm and humid for several days, and then rather chilly. That unpredictably and changeability is fairly typical of the Mediterranean coast at that time of year. Personally, I much prefer to avoid heat unless I know I am going to mainly inside air conditioned places, so I would still pick mid-April over May, even at the risk of rain. But you might feel otherwise.

I live in a different part of the Mediterranean coast and if Barcelona got anywhere near as much rain and cool temps as we did last May, then it is an indication that you just cannot predict how many spring storms there will be along the coast, and how long they will last.

This year, it was second week in May...:nice ,not hot at all....
Several years ago , it was mid- March unny and crisp ever day.
I would .go with May.

Weather is totally unpredictable. Just as the above have shown.
Weather history websites can show the average temps from the past. But they are average so one can expect highs and lows from those averages.
Weather at the moment is terrible, know one predicted that, not even the weather forecasters, a few days ago!

All you can go by are the monthly statistics, so if rainfall in May is on average lower than rainfall in April, and no other factors come into play (price, school or public holidays etc) yes I would go for May. But no-one here or anywhere else can guarantee that May will definitely be better than April when you are actually there, so I'm not really sure why you're asking tbh.
