I know this question has been asked before, but I really can't decide where to stay in Barcelona. Hotel Arts sounds lovely...but is it too far away from all the action? How does Condes compare ? Please help, becasue now I'm just procrastinating.

I too am waffling. I can't decide between the ultra modern, marina situated Arts, or the older, charming Ritz. Leaning toward the Ritz. Hoping for some feedback along with Monica.<BR>Thanks.

The Arts is a BEAUTIFUL place and it is quite far from everything except the Olympic port. It takes 2-3 metro stops to get to the gothic quarter.<BR><BR>The Condes, OTOH, is right on Passeig de Gracia, one of the nicest and most elegant streets anywhere.<BR><BR>I would stay at the Condes. No contest.

I had the same problem. I decided I didn't want to be in a high-rise, wrong atmosphere, wasn't sure I liked the decor of the Condes (although it may be the nicest after the Arts) so I decided on the Ritz. I thought their rooms looked nice on their web page and I liked the fact that they had garden dining. I will be there in May and will report back in June. Hopefully, that won't be too late for everyone.

I did not actualy stay at either hotel. However, I visited the Arts. It is very much out of the way and it seems to be suited more to those who want to be near the Med. than seeing Barcelona.
