Barcelona for Valentines Day 2005

Hi all,

I was hoping for some suggestions based on the following:

4 night stay (Sat-Tues)- first Valentines Day as a married couple
Looking for a hotel in a central area - proximity to good restaurants is important.
Budget is approx. €100 per night for the hotel
Looking for a hotel that has rooms with character/history rather than facilities etc.
Recommendations for a restaurant for Valentines night itself would also be appreciated (would a budget here of €100-€120 for food and wine be reasonable?)

All recommendations welcomed.

Thanks.

Hi,

I don't know the hotels but I have 3 new apartments in barceloneta, a friendly district close to the beach and some of the best seafood restaurants and tapas bar.

You can visit my website: www.freestanza.com

For Valentines night I recomend you "Torre de Alta Mar" restaurant: http://www.torredealtamar.com/eng/1v3.html
Others Recomended: "El lobito" - "El suquet del Allmirall"

good luck!

WHERE oh, WHERE are Patrick and HowardR, the self-appointed "monitors" of advertisements on this board when they are need to chastise yet another person for promoting their own self-interests?????

Personally, I think you should up your proposed "budget" and stay somewhere near the gothich cathedral and the "Ramble" such as the Colon or their nearby 3* the Regencia Colon RATHER than staying in an apartment and doing your own hosuekeeping and stuck down in Barceloneta to boot. You can do the housekeeping at HOME.

Hotel Neri is more than your budget, but it is one of the most beautiful hotels Ive ever stayed in. It is only a block from the cathederal. Check out their web page.
