Barcelona apartment location?

Hi All
I am going crazy looking at apartments.Have one that is around Arago and Rocafort, one in Gracia and one in a small building in Raval around Liceu. We are 'older' and just like to hang out in the evening after a day of seeing the sights. The one in Gracia sounds great for wandering around the area after hours. That one and the one close to Parc Joan Miro both have terraces. They are both VRBOs and have reviews we like.
Has anyone booked thru Oh Barcelona? I think that is where I found the small apt. building in Ravel. It is up near Pl. Catalunya. Any ideas on location? I have read everything I can and looked until I am cross-eyed. This is the end of a 3 wk. trip. I have booked Portugal, Santiago and Girona and am ready to be done with it. Thanks for all of your suggestions. Carol

I take it you're looking at something in the Rocafort Apartments, Carrer de Rocafort, 111, near Parc Joan Miro. The area's fine, about a 25 minute walk to Plaça Catalunya. The Gracia Barrio typically a bit more upscale and is closer to where you want to be, just up from Plaça Catalunya. The El Raval Barrio might be too much for you.

Can't help you with Oh Barcelona, but they have been around since '97.

Thank you, Robert! That's just what I needed. I am leaning toward the apt. in Gracia. I think it would be a good fit for us (from everything I have read.) Seems like a very interesting area. CJ

Agree with Robert about the Gracia option and that Raval might be a bit too much.

But this part of Raval has also got lots of charm, and I can highly recommend dinner here at small, genuine and family owned Ca l'Estevet with lots of great Catalan specialities on the menu.

No Raval. That's dicey at night.

Look: there are TONS of apartments for rent in Barcelona. It is a renter's market. Check out www.apartur.com for leasing agencies.

If you want to be near main sites, you're better off somewhere in the box formed by the Universitat, Tetuan, Diagonal and Verdaguer metro stations.

Thanks everyone! Yes, there are lots of apartments, which is why my head is spinning. The Gracia one got away from me (after we decided we would love it.) Have been going thru the agencies on apartur. There is an apartment on Plaza del Pi (habitat) which catches my fancy. You will probably say it wouldn't be good for us. Reviews say it can be noisy (but my husband is deaf.) Anyway, I'm going to take a break for a couple of days. Thanks for all of the good words.

Thank you all. I have booked the Eixample Loft apt. with Habitat. I realize I made this harder than it had to be. Thanks again!
