You can stay in Plaça Catalunya since it's the heart of Brazil. Regencia Colon Hotel is a best place to get the best value out of what you pay.

There are many owners and agencies renting apartments in Barcelona. If you are unfamiliar with the city, you may be better off with an agency that can guide you.
Some reviews are at www.slowtrav.com

good, because we are renting from Habitat. Does the apartment come with basic supplies for cleaning, washing and the kitchen?

Our family got a 2bedroom apartment in Carrer Arago thru Reservas BCN ([email protected]). The apartment came fully furnished and had WIFI connection which was one of our basic requirements. For us, it is best to stay in the Eixample area as it is very convenient for shopping, dining and for taking public transportation to just about everywhere.

Our apartment had some supplies but very little. We didn't use the dishwasher so just needed to buy dish soap and sponges and paper towels. There was a grocery store about a ten minute walk from our apartment and several small stores with groceries and kitchen supplies. Surprisingly I found it hard to find kitchen soap. That said, the service from habitatapartments was great and the apartment was one of the best we have rented.

what about bathroom supplies-toilet paper, bath soap? Also did they provide sufficient towels? We are renting the Predera apartment.

We rented the La Pedrera apartment (and absolutely loved it). There was toilet paper and if I remember correctly an extra towel per person. You are really going to enjoy the apartment and the location. Make sure you go up the street 1/2 block to Mauri, a great bakery (and more) where we had our coffee and pastry every morning for breakfast.

we rented the apartment on your recommendation + other Fodorites, even though we would have preferred 2 bedrooms. My daughter will get the couch or have to sleep with me, which she hasn't done for over 40 years

I rented the apartment on Nikki's recommendation and were very happy that we did. It has the greatest living room windows/walls and is very nicely designed. Be prepared to provide a few essentials for the kitchen, however, if you don't cook much (we don't), it won't be a problem. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. I would definitely stay there again.

The couch was big and while it was only the two of us, it could be used as a bed. Have a great time in Barcelona.
