BAHN ticket purchasing website won't accept my phone number...

Jump to last reply

By the time I finally understood what I needed and wanted for tickets this afternoon, the 2nd class tickets for a 9:30 trip from Berlin to Kaiserslautern were not available. But there were 1st class tickets for a great price (thank you fodorites for explaining this can happen). The final click of the mouse and it won't take my phone number (and it is mandatory). It is asks for area code or country. I have tried with area code, I try with USA, I try with USA and area code, I try beginning with 1 (which is the long distance beginning number on a land line in the States) and each of the above options. I try it all again with our home land line number as opposed to a cell number. No go. There is a BAHN number to call. It starts with + 49 Does anyone know what the plus sign means? IThank you for your anticipated advice!! I now know I would have never made a good travel agent!
