Azores in winter

Jump to last reply

I will be in Portugal in January and February next year and was wondering whether it is worth going to the Azores for a few days? I know it's not the best time to visit, but it's the only time I have, as I have commitments from March onwards. I understand that many things are closed in winter and the weather isn't the best. I would really just want to see it (I've wanted to go for a long time), practise my Portuguese, go for walks and explore. I know it will be too cold for the beach or anything like that, which is fine, but I don't really want to go if it's likely to be overcast and raining the whole time (think Ireland in winter). Has anyone been in winter and what did you think?
