auto battery voltage

I am considering bringing a plug-in cooler (plugs into cigarette lighter socket) to Scotland next week and I am unsure whether vehicles in the UK operate with a 12 Volt DC battery. Silly question but I'm finding it hard to find an answer. Thanks, Craig.
