Austria and Paris question on hotels

I need to book some flights and hotels. We have never been to Austria and want to enjoy a Christmas market, do you have some suggestions for a boutique type hotel in Austria. Also we have decided not to rent an apartment this time in Paris and my DH loves the area around the Louve. We will be spending a week in Paris and a about four days in Austria. We usually stay at Brighton, but recently friends stayed at Louve Hotel and said the junior suites were better, do you have a suggestion for 3 or 4 star hotel in this area of Paris.

If you have been to a Christmas Market in Austria I would love to hear about.
