Austria and Italy in 10-14 days?

Jump to last reply

I am looking into spending 10-14 days in Europe in October, 2014. The two countries I am most interested in are Italy and Austria. I definitely want to see Salzburg and I would like to experience the food and culture of Italy, but not too set on any one city. I would love to hear from experienced travelers regarding suggested itineraries, places to see off the beaten path, etc.

My husband and I are in our 50's, but are in good shape to walk, climb, etc. We would prefer trains over cars.

I am new to international travel and would greatly appreciate any tips. Thanks so much!
