August holiday in Italy - 3 destinations help

Jump to last reply

Hi everyone, sorry to bother you all most likely with a question that has been listed a million times before.
My husband and I, both late twenties, have booked a flight to Rome for end July, and are hoping to stay in three destinations each for 5-6 nights, flying home from
Milan (only for the cheap flight not to stay there).

The question is where to stay. We were thinking of staying in Rome (not sure where about) then want to follow that with somewhere more peaceful, perhaps near a beach or lake or somewhere, then lastly somewhere near Florence or Venice (I would love to see them both but not sure that is possible). As you can see we're a bit easy-osy just want to see some of Italy and relax in between. Any help or pointers would be really appreciated. Thank you :-)
