atm cards in Spain
What is the best place for atm cards in Spain? Which machines have the lowest prices for non members? What do you suggest we use when we land in Barcellona?
Thanks

Banks in europe do not charge for use of their ATMs (any charges would bee from your home bank) so that's where you should pull cash. If you go to a commercial ATM (in a large store or hotel) it may well charge - and you'll find out when you start the transaction. If you don;t want to pay you can cancel it.

I always use the cash machines attached to banks, preferably in a lobby if one is available there.
Be sure you have a four digit password and notify your bank (and your credit card company, if you use a credit card) before you go.
I once tried to buy a camera with my credit card in Sevilla, and the charge was refused because I hadn't notified the cc company ahead of time.
Nytraveler is right on the money about bank charges. I use my Wells Fargo ATM card for cash. I always get the largest amount possible because WF charges $5.00 per withdrawal, no matter how much I draw. I used a money belt for big money.

I absolutely agree w/Peg.I always use the ATM attached to the bank and inside the lobby! I never use the ones out on the street.and I have never had a problem using my credit or debit card.In some places they will ask you if the transation is to be put through in Dollars or euros-go w/euros,why tag on an extra conversion fee. Usually they ask to see some ID w/photo.
