Athens to Delphi to Meteora to Thessalonki

Hi,

Hoping some people can help me with working out the best way to do Athens to Delphi to Meteora to Thessalonki.

Athens to Delphi seems to be a bus, so my plan was to catch the 1030am bus Athens to Delphi on a Saturday and spend the afternoon there and stay over night.

On the Sunday catch a bus to Lamia and then a train from Lamia to Kalambaka. But I cant seem to find timetables and costs for the buses and trains.

Then spend the Sunday night, full day Monday and Tuesday in Kalampaka before leaving for Thessalonki on the train.

Is anyone able to offer more info on the Delphi to Kalambaka leg, and if there is a better way? I have looked into minibuses going direct between the two locations, but they want you to hire the whole bus, and as I am travelling alone this is very expensive.

Thanks in advance for your help

It is always wise to check on the spot on those things, schedules may change every now and then.

From Delphi it is bus to Amfissa then Lamia or Larissa, then Trikala then Meteora.
Lamia to Kalambaka is a bus again, not a train.

Delphi to Athens bus costs 15.10 euro. I guess Delphi to Meteora bus fares will be around the 40 euro mark in total.

I have provide the alternative for train through Levadia on your tripadvisor post.

I know it sounds complicated but in practice it is not. Just a bit time consuming.
You may post this on a hundrend different forums but your options are very specific, so try not to stress about it. : )

If you really feel that much uncomfortable about this, you may want to consider an organised tour from Athens to Delphi and Meteora with key or go or chat tours, companies who run more or less identical tours since decades ago . I believe most tours start of Athens, then go to Delphi, spend a night there, then move to Meteora, spend a night there and depart to Athens on the evening. You could arrange to leave the tour while at Meteora and continue your trip from there.

Thanks mariha2912, I posted here and tripadvisor just in case someone on different ones had a different/ easier / more time efficient way

I will look into both train and bus and see what works best for me
