Athens hotel with Acropolis view from room/balcony
Looking for a room in Athens with Acropolis view from room/balcony. A lot of the hotels advertize Acropolis view only have it in their roof top terrace, not directly from the room or balcony in the room.
Budget is $250 or less, dates are Sep 24-27.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The only way for us to know that there is an AVAILABLE room meeting your view requirement AND budget would be for us to spend time researching it directly.... and you can easily do it yourself! Just use this clever website: https://www.booking.com/landmark/gr/acropolis.html -- this "sublink" lists all the booking.com offerings ranked by how close they are to Acropolis -- clever, eh? All listings of course have a review rating -- and if a places has a review of 7.8 or better, it's probably a pretty good experience.
Put in your dates and start scrolling. The kind of view you want will probably be at places within .7 miles or closer. The fastest way to see the whole GAMUT of available rooms is just to click on the first one on the list, and then click on the Google map at the left. It will show All booking.com hotels as little blue "balloons". Those with red centers are fully-booked. If you move your mouse over any of the others, up comes name of hotel, rating, and price for your nights. Good luck!

We liked this hotel very much. Some of the rooms start under $250 but may not have rooms with Acropolis views at that price. It has a rooftop terrace with great views.

I had a stunning view from the balcony of my room at the Acropolis View hotel, but I'm not sure I can recommend the hotel. Here's my TA review:
"Wonderful views, but a great deal of room for improvement
"I spent 5 nights in a double for single use at the Acropolis View Hotel in early June. I adored the views of the Acropolis from the roof – glorious! I also adored a breathtaking view of the Parthenon from my balcony. I had wondered whether I was wasting my money by paying extra for that. For my purposes, it was definitely worth it! There were many moments when I enjoyed stepping out onto that balcony briefly – moments when I was already dressed for bed and just wanted a few moments to finish a glass of wine; or when I woke in the middle of the night and couldn’t resist a peek; or … well I’m sure you get the idea! The convenience of my balcony view was very, very welcome.
"Unfortunately, my room was less to my liking. The bathroom was very small and poorly designed. The room lacked several things that I would have expected – most notably, a room safe, but also simple things like a waste bin in the room (not just the one in the bathroom).
"The breakfast buffet was limited to just the basics. The coffee wasn’t particularly good; the “juices” weren’t fresh (more like flavored beverages); if there were hot dishes, I didn’t see them.
"Service at the reception desk was inconsistent at best. Two men seemed to want to help, but didn’t necessarily have the information I sought. A third man was rather rude and unresponsive. Maybe he just had a few bad days."

So interesting to read the post above. We just stayed at The Electra Palace in Athens two weeks ago, and I can only recommend it if you're visiting in the winter months. We were up all night due to the non-existent air conditioning.
To answer the OP's question: AVA Hotel, which was sold out for our last night, has gorgeous rooms looking into The Acropolis, but they wouldn't meet your budget.
You might try ATHENS GATE or THE PLAKA HOTEL, both of which are somewhat cheaper, but I think many hotels with Acropolis view charge more than you may want to spend.

Weadles, your info shows why I gave the specific link I did -- no use for us to recommend hotels that may not be available or fit into that budget ... carcassone needs to find out for self what is affordable with his/her requirement. Many people do not realize how busy September is, in ALL European capitals ... that's when the autumn season of each nation roars into life.

carcassone has been here since 2004 and a glance at her profile indicates that she's quite well-traveled. Seems to me that she would know how to use booking engines.
I'm unaware of a booking engine that filters by view.
I agree with Weadles. Carcassone, I hope this keeps you near the top and more leads come your way.

Not trying to start any kind of controversy with the excellent travelerjan, who is an expert I often refer to for my own plans, but thought of another - cheaper - hotel for possible Acropolis view: HERODION HOTEL. Check reviews before you go!

Another bad experience at the Elctra Palace. We asked for a quiet room and when we tried to sleep, we were bothwred by noise coming from the wall that was very loud. Management denied there was any problem, that we were exaggerating. The hotel was full so we couldn't be moved to another room. Finally, a staff member admitted that the pump and mechanicals for the roof top pool were located right behind our room's wall. We moved to a better hotel in the morning.

Yes, thanks for the Electra Palace info, because that had been high on our list for our next trip to Athens.
I do have one other rec -- it's slightly out of your budget but does include an excellent buffet breakfast: an executive room at Divani Caravel. http://divanicaravelhotel.com/
The standard rooms are just so-so, fine but businesslike. The executive rooms with Acropolis views are much nicer. FWIW, I thought the breakfast buffet was truly excellent.
Also, one of the things I liked best about the hotel was its location. It's in a green, residential neighborhood with several nice restaurants just a block away -- including my favorite restaurant from my trip to Athens in June: Cross
https://www.facebook.com/restaurantcross
Absolutely loved it (and so do many others: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...ss-Attica.html ) delicious and so reasonably priced that you won't mind paying a little more for a hotel room.
You're also in walking distance of Zaxari restaurant, a beautiful upscale wine restaurant. https://zaxarialati.gr/1286-2/ I walked all around the restaurant's neighborhood before and after dinner. Beautiful gardens and apartment buildings.
Walking in the other direction from the hotel, you can wander along the neighborhood's everyday shopping street with small shops, grocery stores, restaurants and cafes.
There are bus stops close by but tbh, I just took cabs everywhere because, compared to Switzerland, they were so inexpensive.

WeiserTee, I guess I'm going off subject, but if you are looking for a wonderful hotel in Athens, check out AVA Hotel and Suites. After many trips, it's our favorite hotel in Athens. And roughly same pricing as Electra Palace or Electra Metropolis,
but much more intimate boutique feel, lovely staff, and location.

Travelerjan, the hotel I recommended DOES have availability on those dates when I posted. I did not check booking.com, I checked on the hotel's own site. More than once, I've been able to book in hotels that were listed as sold out on booking.com.

And of course, availability varies over time, as people book and cancel reservations.... Over the years, I've snagged any number of recommended places by carefully monitoring booking.com to see when a space opens up.

WeisserTee, that is something booking(dot)com would rather people not know. When it says "no availability on this site" or "only one left on our site" they mean the booking(dot)com website, not the hotel. Any sensible hotel will keep rooms back that they can book directly with the customer, and not pay fees to the booking website.

Hi
You could try the O&B Athens Boutique Hotel - https://www.oandbhotel.com/athens-su...-petite-suite/. Rates are 198.00 € per night for pre payment. It's in the ball park and given you're after an Acropolis room view 4 weeks out I'd give it serious thought.
