arsenal fc/emirates stadium

Hello London fodorites;
my son is traveling to london for his 21st birthday (thanks mom ; ) and mileage). his favorite team is arsenal, since he's a little boy. i've been searching for tickets for sam and his friends via ticket sites and craigslist. can you explain the desirability of each section? are the lower tier not as good? they seem cheap and i'm wary. i know they're cheaper because newcastle is not a prime game. any other tips, tickets or suggestions??
thanks,
cheryl

1) Craigslist is the haunt of fraudsters, if you buy from there not only is it illegal under UK law but the odds are that the tickets will be fake.
2) The match is between the 4th & 6th team in the Premiership - it's a "prime" match.
3) Have you tried buying from the Arsenal website - try ringing the club

Definitely try through the club. Craigslist is NOT a good option.

thanks - i have used craigslist in the states with no problems, but the lack of tickets posted and the unreasonably good prices scared me off. glad to know my radar's ok! are there any other reliable online sources?

arsenal did seem to have a few single tix high up on the clock end. do people try to sell extras on match day at the stadium? the boys have tix to see West Ham but, as sam would say, it's not quite arsenal...

It's illegal to buy tickets on the street outside the ground, and they would probably be very expensive if you did buy them.

Arsenal have a "swap" section on their website where ticket holders who can't attend a match are allowed to sell their tickets. The problem - as it will by any other method - will be finding adjacent seat tickets

It looked around, and it appears this game may be exceptionally difficult. Even the cheaper end of the hospitality packages are sold out, as well as the Thompsonsport "Ticket + Hotel" deals.

I'd be very wary of touts, especially those selling home printed tickets (If this sounds strange, many clubs allow printing of a barcode labelled ticket for late sales).

If all else fails, he could always go to the ground to soak up pre match atmosphere, then watch the game in a pub.

willit; thanks for checking, and i will pass along your suggestion to at least go to mecca pre match/game in a local pub. (i have suggested that very thing to visitors hoping to see cubs baseball here in chicago) i have to ask though; what's a "tout"? rhymes with out? - definitely brit slang to me!

alanRow; the biggest problem is that we don't know a membership holder for ticket exchange!

blech, he should've bought earlier. still have my fingers crossed for him...
