Arriving Madrid Barajas T4 and connecting at 4S- How long?

I am arriving in Terminal T4 (Avianca flight arrives 14:25) and have to connect with a flight that leaves from Terminal 4S (Iberia departs 16:55 ) Do I have enough time between flights? How do I go from T4 to 4S? Thanks

T4 connects to T4S underground by a rail link. It only takes a few minutes. If you are not flying on a connecting flight, then you will have to go back through security after checking in at your airline.

Remember, if you are catching an international flight, the airline normally requires you arrive at least 2-1/2 hours before departure.

Allow time to go through security again too. I found this rather odd, but the location of the main doors is beside the exit of the train so the Staff do not know where you have entered the building from. Queue lengths vary.

Iberia tends to change gate numbers so make sure to keep checking the main board! I got worried when there was no one at my gate and then found out why and had to go running to the new gate-just made the flight! The gates are far apart too!

Iberia does not announce the actual departure gate until 20 minutes before departure on domestic flights. It's not much different on international flights, but they will be in the international departures area because of security. You do have to watch the monitors to see which gate you will be leaving from.
