Arriving in Venice after Midnight-how do we get to the hotel?

We are arriving in Marco Polo Airport in Venice, just after midnight. Will the vaporettos still run or the bus. Like most people I'll pay lots for hotels and flights and will definately balk at 75.$ US to get to the hotel All advise will be appreciated

Dear Cheryl,

There are essentially two ways:

If you are VERY lucky, you might get the last direct boat to St. Mark's square, leaving the airport at 12:05 am (Alilaguna line, 17'000 lire fare, about $8.50).

There are also line #5 buses leaving the airport at 12:10 and 1:10 am, going to piazzale Roma and connecting to the night line vaporetto, which serves the Canal Grande, St. Mark's square, and the Lido (Fare 6'000 lire, about $3.00)

Hope this helps

Enjoy your trip

Phil.

Ask your hotel concierge--via email if necessary. He/she should be able to give you the best advice.
