Arriving in Paris last day of the Tour
We will be arriving in Paris for five days...the first will be the last day of the Tour de France. We will be driving into the city centre. Is this advisable? Our hotel is north of the Tuileries in the 1ER. I'm guessing no...but?

If you go to Paris, to the very center, with a car, that is never advisable, Tour or no Tour. Why not ditch the car on the periphery and rent another when you leave?
But yes, there will be street closures, the Tour always ends on the Champs Elysées and you'll have to find out just what route it takes on its way there, and at what time. One more reason to surrender the car and take a RER train or the metro into the center.

We were in Paris last year for the final day of the Tour de France. There were many streets closed off and from what we could see they wouldn't even let people walk across some of the streets. We had to walk a long way to get back across the River after the race was done. So I would not drive.
However, the day was exciting. Thousand of people in central Paris!!

Brings back memories. Our first time in Paris was also the last day of the Tour. We arrived by train from the south, and we did not know this. Our taxi driver could not even get close to our hotel, so we had to walk the last 4 blocks with heavy luggage in tow. You can definitely expect disruptions. But it was actual fun to be in the midst of the excitement
