ARGH! Fare sale to London 11/2002
Maybe someone else can take advantage of this deal. BA has roundtrip tickets from DFW to Gatwick for $295 for the next few weeks. I already have tickets for SFO on 11/6-11/12 or else I would jump on this. Argh! I drives me nuts to think tickets to SFO cost $350 and I could be going to London instead.

Someone, please tell me you are taking advantage of this fare and are on your way to London! Think of me while you are there.

Hi GeeGirl,

We bought the fare for spring break next March! We couldn't believe our good fortune when we saw that this would be nonstop. This is the cheapest fare I've seen in a long time (from DFW . . . Virgin does fly from here).

Now we're looking for an inexpensive apartment for 3 adults. Anyone??

(By inexpensive, we'd like to keep the per-night rate to $150 or less.)

And, don't feel too bad . . . San Francisco is not too shabby a destination!

Thanks!
Sandy
Sorry, sorry, sorry . . . typo in my post . . . it should have read "Virgin does NOT fly from DFW.

I've been watching the airfares from DFW to London for about a month (we're going Mar '03, spring break) and the cheapest nonstop I'd seen was $480 on AA. I use MyYahoo to post the cities I'm watching airfare to.

Low/behold . . . this great fare came up so I jumped on it. We leave on Wed, Mar 12 and return on Sun, Mar 23. The "base" fare was $258 and taxes, etc. made it $350.50 . . . still a GREAT fare for nonstop.

Sandy

Michael: I am not Even Better but I think I know what he(she?) is talking about. The $199 intrigued me so I looked in my VS Flying club statement - they are offering $199 round trip Nov 1 - Jan 14 from all of their US gateways by spending 5000 miles. And from Jan 15-Mar 31 it is even cheaper from the east coast -- $169 R-T, while west coast gateways increase to $249.

So it is only for those who have VS miles.

I looked into the "miles plus money" rate that Virgin is offering (for Feb... Newark to Heathrow).. it would have been 269 (total, including taxes) plus 5,000 miles per ticket, round trip... (FYI: if you have Amex membership rewards point, you can transfer them to the Virgin Atlantic FF program but it takes a few weeks to transfer the points, which you need to do before purchasing the tix) the only catch is you don't accumulate miles using miles plus money.

I ended up not using any points and just taking advantage of a sale price they are offereing, which i believe was 242 (came to 343 with taxes, etc) per ticket round trip .

pretty good deal i think

Hi GeeGirl,

I just went to yahoo.com and checked on airfare DFW-London . . . when the next screen came up, I went over to the right-hand side and in the dates to search, put March to March . . . BA popped up, still $258 and it's good until 31 Mar 03. With all taxes/fees, we paid $355.50 for roundtrip, nonstop.

Good luck!
Sandy

www.britishairways.com - London flights $99 to $129 each way based on roundtrip purchase from Denver, Dallas, and Houston only. Today is the last day of the sale. Flights must be completed by 3/31/03 (which does not help me because we are not going until April).
