Are there passes in Italy for the sites??
We will be going to Italy for the first time in May. We are mainly going to the 3 big tourist spots (Rome, Florence, Venice). As you know there is a museum pass and a metro pass that you buy in Paris that gets most of the job done. I was wondering if there are simillar passes in Italy that we should look into.
Thanks for the help!

A Roma Pass was recently created in Rome (naturally). It covers many museums and public transportation. Check out its website: http://www.romapass.it

hi, karinehm,
there are red and blue passes in Venice, which cover the water buses and some other attractions, but we never really worked out what these were - they wren't teh ones we went to, anyway! in the end, we decided that the water-bus passes alone would have been better value.
in florence, there may be such passes but we didn't find them. hace you tried searching this forum for this subject?
regards, ann

In Rome: Roma PASS: it covers all transportation and 2 museums of your choice (you can choose over 40 museums). You have a discount on the other museums of the list. It costs 20 euros and last 3 days. IT DOESN'T INCLUDE VATICAN MUSEUMS.
In Florence: there's no such pass in Florence
In Venice: Venice Card (www.venicecard.it). Different durations. Many services are included.

The only pass I know of for Florence is the Friends of the Uffizi. It's priced mostly for visiting students, at about 26E, and is good for a year. More for adults. It covers lots of museums. I posted details about it on another thread, for a teacher bringing students to Italy.
