Are Alcoholic Drinks Still Free On International Flights?

I am wondering if alcoholic drinks are still free on International Flights? A friend who flew U.S. Air recently said that they are now charging for all alcoholic drinks regardless of domestic/international destinations. Anyone know?

Flew coach on international flights w/British Air and Quantas and received complimentary wine with dinner, etc. Didn't ask for mixed drink or anything.

On BA they are certainly still free on Trans-Atlantic flights, but not necessarily within Europe

Thanks to all who responded. I like to tip a few back while I'm flying to ease my nerves and I'm glad to hear that I will still be able to do so free of charge.

Nothing is free.Everybody pays for the alcohol, including those who don't drink.
This probably grates with Moslems, Hindus, non-drinkers and other weird people like me who can actually travel sober.

"Watery" ice cubes? Just when you think you've seen it all in this forum, someone proves you wrong.

Although Northwest charges for drinks, all mine were free when I flew International to London last month due to a short delay. Good luck to you on your trip!

Mary C
