For London, I have (Android phone):
Pubtran: Journey planner, maps, tube status warnings, next tube departures at any given station
Where is the bus?: times of next buses from any given stop
These use TfL's own databases, but TfL has its own apps.
PatrickLondon thank you!
Hi, there are quite a few useful ones for Paris. You can read my post that also explains how to use the Paris hotspot system: http://www.aussieinfrance.com/2011/11/3-iphone-apps-for-paris-and-wifi/. And a description of google translate on http://femmesfrancophiles.blogspot.fr/2012/03/phone-application-google-translate.html. If you like history, Revolution provides a great walking tower also reviewed on the same blog.
Thank you AussieFrance!
