apartment suggestions for family of 4 in Rome over Christmas holidays

Hello - our flights are booked and the family will be converging on Rome December 21st for 12 nights. I've been searching VRBO and Housetrip.com. Requests have gone out to at least 10 properties with the key criteria being 2 bedrooms, one with a double/queen bed and the other with 2 single beds so our adult children won't have to share a bed or I won't be refereeing who has to sleep on a pull out couch. Budget is up to $3500 for the 12 nights and location is Navona, Trevi, Spanish Steps. We don't want to be near St Peters during the holiday and Trastevere is a bit far. Does anyone have personal experience and/or suggestion for an apartment? VRBO owners are not terribly responsive to inquiries for some reason.

Thanks!

"Trastevere is a bit far."

We stayed in the Via del Moro earlier this month and found it very convenient. The Ponte Sisto takes you straight into the Campo dei Fiori or Ghetto areas. About a 10 minute amble.

cmeyer, my husband and I stayed in this apartment with my two nieces and my sister two years ago. The location was wonderful, close to the Pantheon, and the company was very responsive to my emails. The apartment was exactly as presented on their website. Deborah

We'll be spending 5 days in Rome next June and I've just booked an apartment just off Piazza Navona with Rentals in Rome http://www.rentalinrome.com I looked on VRBO and a couple of other sites too but found this one to be the best, both for price as well as response to emails, etc, you might want to check them out.
