Apartment services for Barcelona and Pamplona

We have rented apartments in Italy through Sleep in Italy and Venice Apartments. Are there similar local services for Spain. We are planning a trip for July 2016 for San Fermin so I thought that I would start looking now to book for next year's fiestas.

In Barcelona all rentals have to be registered.
from some advice about where to find rentals in BCN and the registration laws please read this bit from Trip Advisor.

Apartments rentals in Pamplona during fiesta are possible, but apartments in the old city will be quite expensive, about $900/night for a two-bedroom apartment on Mercaderes, where I wouldn't want to be during fiesta.

Apartment rentals in the city center would be Sercotel Suites Mendebaldea, Sercotel Suites Mirasierra and Gestión de Alojamientos. Further out is the AH San Fermiin.

Next question, in Italy the first floor is what is the second floor In the US, is Spain the same? Or, it the first floor the ground floor like in the US?

In most of Europe the ground floor is what Americans call the first floor. So the first floor would indeed be the second floor in the US.

I just booked an apartment in Barcelona through booking.com. I tried to book one through Habitat Apartments but the site would not take my credit cards (several attempts) so I moved on.

Booking.com has a lot of listings for Barcelona (just click "apartments" when looking) and you get the benefit of the reviews. Not sure if it is a good resource for Pamplona, but it is worth checking out...

huh, I used Habitat and didn't have any problem whatsoever with American credit cards on the site. Maybe you didn't notify your CC company of unexpected foreign charges?

I am possibly going this September with a 9 year old grandson - I would like to be "centrally located" - what would be the best neighborhoods to consider?

***best neighborhoods to consider?***
Best in what way? Sites in BCN are spread quite wide.
As you can see from this map of the metro.

Go to www.apartur.com for Barcelona's registered apartment providers.

-Maybe you didn't notify your CC company of unexpected foreign charges?-

I book things all the time in Europe and don't usually have to call. In this case it was something on the Spanish banks end - Habitat could see that I tried (three different cards) but my credit cards could not see any attempt.

Sometimes it happens, things just don't go through. It happens. Unfortunately the apartment I wanted was booked in the interim but Habitat was very apologetic.

Booking.com just makes it SO easy!
